Harvey Cemetery Burials & Tombstones - Relocation
There was a small cemetery on private property in North Dumfries which interfered with road construction through land owned by Mr. Robert Loughlean. The Foundation was requested to consider funding the exhumation of those buried there as well as the removal of the headstones to a safe place. In 1989 this project was completed under the direction of Dr. Shelley Saunders of McMaster University. The tombstones are now at Doon Heritage Crossroads and the remains have received a respectful internment elsewhere.
